Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 August 2026

These terms cover the design, build, and hosting services Melstone ("we", "us") provides through this website. By requesting a mockup or engaging us for a project, you agree to the terms below.

1. The free mockup

We'll build an initial preview of your website using the details you provide, at no cost and with no obligation to proceed. The mockup remains our work until an invoice for the build has been paid in full.

2. Pricing & payment

Build prices are one-time fees, quoted per the packages listed on our pricing section (or agreed individually for custom work). Payment for the build is due before the site is moved from preview to live. Hosting is billed monthly in advance from the point the site goes live.

3. Hosting & ongoing service

Monthly hosting includes site hosting, routine security updates, and minor content updates (such as text or image changes) as described in your plan. It does not include new pages, redesigns, or major structural changes, which are quoted separately.

4. Cancellation

There are no long-term contracts. Hosting can be cancelled at any time with 30 days' written notice (email is fine). One-time build fees are non-refundable once work has begun, except where required by law.

5. Content you provide

You're responsible for the accuracy and rights to any text, photos, logos, or reviews you provide for use on your site. You confirm you have the right to use anything you send us.

6. Ownership

Once the build is paid in full, the website content and design created for you are yours to use. The underlying code, templates, and any reusable components remain the property of Melstone and may be reused for other clients.

7. If you cancel hosting

If hosting is cancelled, the live site will be taken offline at the end of the notice period. We're happy to provide an export of your site files on request before that happens.

8. Liability

We aim to keep sites online and working reliably, but we can't guarantee the hosting will be uninterrupted or error-free. We're not liable for losses arising from downtime, third-party service outages, or content you've provided.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our hosting after an update means you accept the revised terms. Existing clients will be notified of material changes.
